How to authenticate download files

The files are verified by a number of AntiVirus software. Please report any issues!

While downloading files there is a very small possibility not getting the file as expected (download manager fails, virus on your pc, etc.). Thus the received file gets corrupted. The following presents a way to recognise such a condition.

Each file (original file) you download from this site offers an additional ".md5" file (Message-Digest 5 Algorithm). A ".md5" file includes information from the creator of the original file and is a way to add security to files against corruption while files are downloaded.

The ".md5" files on this site were created using the algorithm according to RFC 1321 using the software MD5.EXE. You may download the original file, plus the ".md5" file plus the MD5.EXE and check against it.

Example
The original file you want to download is "url.../sxdemo.exe" then you can also download the "url.../sxdemo.exe.md5" and the MD5.EXE.

Once on your local drive you can check using the command line

>MD5.exe sxdemo.exe

We assumed here having the files "sxdemo.exe, sxdemo.exe.md5 and MD5.exe" localy present in the same directory.

Output of the test run:

If you can't find the ".md5" file of the original file please request one.

TIP: When downloading the original file as ZIP file it gets the md5 files too.
